3 Clues That It's Time for a Home Roofing Replacement

You want to make sure that you are keeping up on the replacement of your home roof as soon as the need arises. Of course, you need to first make sure that you are actually able to spot the signs that indicate that there is a need for a residential roof replacement. If you are not currently sure as to what those signs are, you will want to keep reading. Here are three clues that mean you should be on the phone with a roofing company:

Shingles Are Curling Up at the Corners

Take a close look at the shingles on your roof. Get a pair of binoculars if necessary to get a better look. You could also climb a ladder and get a closer look at the condition of the shingles once you approach the top of the ladder. If you happen to notice that some of the shingles on the roof are starting to curl up, especially at the corners, you will know it is now time for you to call a roofing company.

Light Shines Through Into the Attic

This is one of those things that you might not actually notice unless you are really looking for it. So if you have an attic in your home, you will want to venture up there on a nice sunny day. Take a flashlight with you so you can keep the main light off so you can see if there is any natural light coming through. The flashlight will come in handy when you need to walk to a different area of the attic and want to keep the main light off. Be careful: you don't want to injure yourself.

There Are Bits of Shingles in the Gutters

The next time you go to clean out the gutters, you are going to want to take a close look at the stuff that you are pulling out of there. There will probably be leaves, some dead bugs, twigs, and possibly some granules from the shingles sitting in there if your shingles are getting up there in age.

The sooner you set up an appointment for a professional inspection of your roof, the better. You want to make sure that you are getting the roofing replacement process started right away. The last thing you want is for the quality of your residential roof to get worse and worse, as this could result in additional repair needs and more money spent.
